Avoiding wasted energy during pull-ups?
Anyone give me any tips on how to maximize my pull-up total for boot camp....Besides the obvious
I'm reffering to proper technique, arm spacing, what should I do w/my feet, etc.?
Thanks in advanced. 7,654 points to the winner!
Also...Ive been taking two stools, placing them a foot or so apart, and using them to do kind of a reverse pull-up (arm raise, I think)...is this the type of exercise that will work the same muscles?

you will have to figure out the optimum hand spacing for "you" by trial and error. the mechanics of everyones body is slightly different due to variances in bone and tendon.
when you pull focus on using your hands as hooks and lead with the elbows. also, squeezing the bar to tight will cause the forearms to prematurely give out. when you can no longer do pull ups then you can focus on doing several negatives. hold the abs in tight and keep the legs from swaying during the entire movement.
