    1. This is the Desktop model, correct?

    2. Do you know if you have the ATI or Nvidia video card?

yea no sure what MHZ is xps 400 but i recall correctly it's about 1.6 gig which is to slow i'd suggest no lower then 3.0

you can get some good duel intels like 2 2600 for a 5.200GHZ process for about 179 motherboard 179

you need min 1gig ram i suggest 2 gigs 69-99 each

you need a half way decent video card anything over a invida 6900 i'd suggest something that you can work with for a long time but not top of the line

so like a 8100 G-force about 220 i believe might be lower then that.

Playing brand new vidoe games means you have to have a good computer but with this set up you'll be able to pick up the next computer games off the shevies for the next 3 years. it's a lot of money but it's a small price to pay for having better games better graphics better speed then consoles.

If you could tell me what exactly MHZ a XPS400 is maybe we don't need to replace so much if the MHZ is fine then maybe adding some ram will be enough. Also i need to know what video card you have. that also might be good enough

I assume you are talking about Age of Conan. An XPS 400 is a Pentium D, right? and probably an older video card, both of which are really not ideal for this game.

I am playing on a Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU, with 4GB of RAM, and a Geforce 9800GTX video card, I am playing at 1680x1050 on high settings and I am seeing about 40-55fps in crowded Tortage, and up to 150fps in the wilderness. This is running under Vista Home Premium X64 edition.

Hope this gives you an idea of what plays the game well.

    Good Luck

upgrading an old pc is expensive and usually not worth it but

if money is tight and you need it right away buy more memory and upgrade the graphics card

id recommend buy a new unit as the duocores are really cheap and you'll get a better video card and more memory and a warranty to boot for about the same or less then upgrading your old unit and it will be new faster better more
