how to do a 2 page spread in design with bleeds?

Hi,

I currently have am using Adobe Indesign and have a master template that controls my two page spread. Unfortunately with the master set up that way, I can't do interior bleeds because it goes onto the neighboring page. How can I break this template out so I can have interior (by the stitch) bleeds?

If I remove the two page spread design, then how do I avoid losing my page #s that are in the corners? If possible, I'd like to have to avoid selecting every other page and applying a specific template.

Update:

the question should read "in Adobe Indesign"

Well, if the document you are creating is going to be used to make a book that has some form of joining, then you do not need interior bleed as the interior edges of these pages butt up against each other when imposed by a printer.

Just grab a saddle stitched magazine (one with staples) and look at the internals and how the join across the staples when pulled apart and you'll see there's no need for bleed.

    Good luck with it.
