  • how can i get the save to window in mozilla's firefox browser to not be hidden?

in firefox, if I'm saving a file (like a pic from gmail), it asks me if I want to open or save. if I click save, the Windows pop up window that says "enter a name of the file to save to" appears briefly and then is hidden behind the browser.

it's very annoying - I have to find it in order to complete the action. it hasn't always been like that, but has for a while. I'd love to fix it so it stays on top. This pop-under drives me crazy!

    thanks for your help!

  • What are the restrictions on processing of an "organic" product?

If a company uses only organic ingredients but uses non-organic chemicals to extract things from those ingredients, can it still be called organic? I was just reading how some "light" soy milks use hexane to extract soy flour from soybeans. Wondering if that can still qualify as "organic?"

  • Speed up XP boot without losing fonts?

    Hi,

I'm trying to speed up my XP boot times by not loading all my fonts initially. However, I need almost all of them for design projects. So, I'm wondering if there's a way to delay the loading of the fonts, or move them to a different spot but still have access to them without manually installing them each time?

If you have any suggestions, I'd appreciate them. Even some whacky automated script to run when I need to run a design program would be tolerable. Thanks.

  • how can I remap an image's iptc data from one field to another?

I would like to be able to process a batch of images, moving IPTC data from one field to another (for example, from description writer to description). Is there a tool available for this? I have Adobe Bridge, but would use anything cheap that could do it.

  • what's going on with my irritated nose?

any help would be appreciated here. I did a bike race the other day, and it was on a dirt road, and a lot of dust was in the air with all the riders. I'm sure I breathed a lot in. After the race, my right nostril (or higher?) was super irritated, and I've been sneezing a ton and have a constantly runny nose now. I tried a sinus rinse but it didn't help. What's going on, and what should I do?

  • how to do a 2 page spread in design with bleeds?

    Hi,

I currently have am using Adobe Indesign and have a master template that controls my two page spread. Unfortunately with the master set up that way, I can't do interior bleeds because it goes onto the neighboring page. How can I break this template out so I can have interior (by the stitch) bleeds?

If I remove the two page spread design, then how do I avoid losing my page #s that are in the corners? If possible, I'd like to have to avoid selecting every other page and applying a specific template.

  • Do food companies have separate packages for places at high altitude?

when we take a bag of chips to altitude, it greatly expands and somtimes pops, which makes sense with the difference in pressure. Yet when we go to the store at altitude, none of the bags of chips look like that. do they have separate batches with less air in them that are earmarked for altitude

  • natural hdl cholesterol different than drug induced?

here's a technical question for the doctors out there. with all the bad news about drug-raised HDL cholesterol levels, does that cast doubt on whether foods that raise HDL are also bad?

I just read this story and am trying to understand it better as to whether it casts any doubt on whether this good cholesterol is truly good or whether the drugs just have bad side effects.
