Ginger, I grant you North Dakota does not have a lot in the way of attractions.

But you could NEVER say that about South Dakota.

South Dakota is full of wonderful things to see and amazing scenery.

However, back to your actual question.

Nebraska is the answer, no two ways about it.

But only in the sense that there is not as lot to see there other than scenery!

You find around cook County, Illinois boring?

Goodness it is the second largest county (by population) in the USA!

    And Chicago is in it.

States and areas cannot be boring - only people can be boring.

An interesting person will create an interesting and full life for themselves, no matter where they live.

I give you a star because your question generated great passionate responses.

That is how I define a good question.

I live in Glen Carbon, Illinois which is just 15 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri and it is the opposite of boring. We have lots of hills and trees and hardly any farms. Missouri is a fun state. I would have to say the western states, and the western half of Kansas (but not the eastern half of Kansas, it is pretty fun and it is not all farmland). I used to live in Bound Brook, New Jersey over by NYC and it was really fun, but too noisy. TommyMo: You do know that the midwest has mountains right? In Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana we have hills often over 1/4-1/2 a mile high. We also have forests you know. So stop stereotying the midwestern states into one big group.

Right now I'm in Fort Smith Arkansas and theres not **** to do here and you have to drive at leeeast an hour to find something decent. Out of all the places I've been this is the most boring place although I dont' doubt there worse, sadly

I live in central IL. It is boring as all get out. There is nothing to do. Besides go to movies and if you are a nature freak. You can walk in a forest. That's basicaly it. Unless you are a runner. Then Central IL is the place to be for running. Yeah not much at all.

to the idiots who said maine and washington state are boring you dont have a pulse---i live in maine and to put it in perpective: last weekend i hiked 6000 ft mt washington, this weekend i'm sitting on the beach as its gonna be 90 degrees, and next weekend i'm going whitewater rafting on the kennebec(class 4 river)...oh yea, and in between i party my as* off in portland---how boring is that???

---my vote-- iowa, illinois, oklahoma; pretty much any central state thats not known for either the great outdoors or city life

To Cortez.. Mississippi happens to be a very nice state.. The gulf coast with its casinos, the rural countryside and the nice people that live there. But my personal opinion on most boring state is Texas... can drive the east side of it and never see much of anything... unless you like cowboys.

Delaware is internationally known as the most boring state. Nothing ever happens there.
