Do you think the UK should have changed to the Euro all those years ago?...petrol would be cheaper now.....?

Update:

The price of petrol has also a lot to do with the exchange rate against the dollar...the pound is weak against the dollar and the Euro is strong....Yes it is made up of tax...but the starting point would be lower.

In years to come we will change to the Euro anyway,,The nations that have it seam to get on with it,I lived i Spain for some time and they were happy with it after it had settled down,,I guess though that wether we had the Euro or not the UK government would still tax fuel to the hilt,,

Nope, as 60% of the cost of petrol is pure tax, using a different currency wouldnt change a thing

The price of petrol is down to it being over taxed.
