How do I deal with idiots?

Hello world. I'm 14 years old and was wondering, how do I deal with the ever so popular, and very much hated, idiots! I know i've got the maturity to talk away from a really dumb arguement.. but I just hate giving them the satisfaction of them thinking they won. I know in an arguement, i'm 100% correct..

I don't argue with people unless I really know what i'm talking about. I've tryed out-smarting them, using common sence over them.. nothing seems to work. I would like to know what you do when you happen to stumble across these plebians I want to say.. but just plain idiots..

When I was in jr high, I was the sweet, quiet dorky kid who trophied in the spelling bee.

Then I got to high school and became the sullen, sarcastic kid who despised her classmates for their ignorance and conformity, and medaled in academic decathlon. (dorks rock!)

Then I got out of school, attempted college at a quaker-founded institute and eventually dropped out to pursue a life of (depressingly) working in an officeful of the same kind of idiots I knew in HS.

Sorry to burst your bubble, kiddo, but (for most people) maturity ends in high school. Cliques, jocks, morons, sniping little skanks... they're everywhere. Lucky for you, you already realize your superiority at a young age, but now that'll have to carry you through the next 50 painful years of life in the American workplace.

    Sorry.

Ignore them. Buy into karma. Move to a remote island paradise where you are regarded as a deity. Or , best of all, follow through on your education and let them eat sh*t at your HS reunion.

You are not that mature if you think you can change people's minds when they are arguing as hard as you are for their point. Most likely these "idiots" count you among the idiots as well.

You see, there is no real glory in thinking you are right all the time, wanting to show people you are right and so on. That just makes you boorish.

If you are arguing fact, that's one thing, but to argue opinion is quite another. We all have different points of view and maturity is respecting other people's opinions. You do not have to agree with it, but you should respect the fact that others are just as entitled as you are to an opinion.

The only way to make a know it all see things from your point of view is to make them think they thought of it themself.

Make simple suggestions that steer their argument to your way of thinking & it will suprise you just how soon you will have them agreeing with you whilst thinking it was 100% their idea in the first place!

Works a treat...& like someone else said, don't stress about it too much because you will come across these people every day for the rest of your life...just have the satisfaction of knowing in your heart you were the bigger person. =o)

I find the best and most effective solution is to simply be dismissive of their argument/ conversation.

Ex. If they want to talk about the sky being yellow (when you know its blue) simply dismiss the question/argument and start a new topic. If they keep going simply ask "what are you talking about?" and then further dismiss the answer with a new topic. Only the thickest of the thick manage to keep talking past this.

I will mention this does get easier with age. But its a handy skill to develop now...

You know you're right, and they'll still always be idiots. You'll find them all through your life. Just ignore them. Not worth discussing anything with them. Just say you refuse to argue with an unarmed mind and walk away.

I am very sarcastic and with dumb people I use sarcasm in an obvious stingy way so they understand it. But if it gets senseless, I just say, I don't see the point of this conversation and walk away.

You can't legislate stupidity. There will ALWAYS be idiots out there,. Avoid them. Ignore them. You are rising to the bait which makes it your fault you are frustrated with them. Idiots have closed minds and nothing you say or do will change their wrong mindset, so WHY are you wasting your time?

When you grow up you will learn that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Besides, it's not whether you're right or wrong but how you play the game :)

Your arguments might be too complicated for an idiot to understand....... I would just give up instead of getting frustrated.
