Are you a blood donor or on bone marrow donor register?

Reasons for or against pls.

I personaly have made 58 donations since making a vow to God that i would double the number of blood units that my mother got, if she at least woke up from major surgery to remove advanced/ aggresive skin cancer. Mom needed 23 units over 3 days. Lots of limpglands & some muscles removed but 21yrs later mom is still healthy & still managing her home publishing buisness at age 68.

Update:

I havent been asked yet to be a bone marrow donor but i have made a Matched platlet/ plasma donation to a lukemia patient who needed stronger chemio that would at least tempory suspress his platlet production. He needed a perfect tissue match due to the large amount of just blood type given before. He is in remission & healthy last 2yrs. I'm glad the matched platlets worked much easier to give but still willing to give bone marrow to another rare match. about 1 in 50,000

Update 2:

Hip Hop my sister has the same problem in Australia due to living in the UK for a year , 18yrs ago , reason small to zero chance of contracting Mad Cow disease from eating UK meat &posslbly incubating C J D Human variant of Mad Cow.

Jess thanks for being tested.

thank you. I cant even count type the style of blood products I truthfully have won over 2 leukemia prognosis and a stem cellular transplant. My considerable different donates to the interior of reach scientific institution often, and is on the marrow registry. what's so unhappy, is over the final 3.5 years that I truthfully have been with the aid of this, loads of folk have asked in the event that they might properly be examined to examine me (earlier transplant) or in the event that they might donate blood to me. None of them donate often, and none of them could sign of for the marrow registry. None. Why are human beings so unwilling to grant? I recommend, donating blood is a needle on your arm for what, 30 minutes? and how they do stem cellular transplant donation in maximum situations immediately (as a exchange of employing truthfully marrow, loads of the time they use peripheral blood stem cells) with a aphersis gadget, that throughout all fairness hassle-free and non evasive besides. I dont understand approximately others, yet the two considerable college trauma hospitals that i'm taken care of at in many circumstances have adequate blood handy for a pair of million-2 days of common sufferers, and no the place close to adequate blood in case of a great emergency.

yes i try to donate regularly, but the last few times ive ran into various problems....passing out, low iron, the nurse hit an artery (i think it was an artery, i dont know but she wasnt supposed to hit it and i bruised terribly). so due to my numerous failures i stopped for a while but i think im gonna start up again. its something so easy to do and it helps so many people. im an organ donor and ive been thinking about donating marrow lately.

I would love to donate blood, as I am a healthy and normal person. Apparently though, my blood isn't good enough as deemed by the US and A because I was born in England and may have an infinitesimal chance of carrying Creutzfeld-Jakob disease.

Absolutely ridiculous that they say no to saving a life now because it may kill them in the future. I figure you'd want to at least give them a future...
