Capitalism has met with strong opposition throughout its history. Most of the criticism came from the left, but some from the right, and some from religious elements. Many 19th century conservatives were among the most strident critics of capitalism, seeing market exchange and commodity production as threats to cultural and religious traditions. Some critics of capitalism consider economic regulation necessary in order to reduce corruption, negligence, and numerous of other problems caused by free markets.

The relationship between the state, its formal mechanisms, and capitalist societies has been debated in many fields of social and political theory, with active discussion since the 19th century.

it will there in our for centuries

It depends on what you mean by capitalism. Pure capitalism does not exist (except perhaps in Somalia.) An economy with absolutely no form of capitalism (private property, investing resources, etc.) is not likely to ever exist. Even pure communist states have, at the least, capitalist black markets.

So I don't think the question is so much how long capitalism will exist for, but in what degree it will exist. I think a number of factors point to less capitalism in the future - the fact that economic expansion cannot continue forever, increased concern about environmental problems, the shifting of economic power away from the more pro-capitalist west and toward the east. It will be interesting to see how things stand 40-50 years from now.

Probably for as long as human beings are around. America has a modified version of capitalism with state intervention in several sectors of the economy, of course. But the basic precept of people trading with each other for profit is closer to human nature than any other structure of society. Capitalism has been proven to be the most ethical and efficient system out there and any other system will either create disorder or dictatorship. Let's hope that it survives indefinitely.

Capitalism will never die. When your out for yourself you help everyone, i'll give you some examples. You start a business so you take out a loan (your helping the bank). When you buy supplies for your business such as food and equipment you are helping the manufacturers and pay their employees. Customers of your business benefit from buying it, and it increases their quality of life. The ball keeps rolling when you act as a customer, its the perfect system, the only time the government has to be involved is to tax. But with systems like communism the government must watch everything and it costs them more money than they can make.

If you think true capitalism is even still alive you're fooling yourself.

We live in a socialist state mascarading as a capitalist rebuplic that calls itself a democracy for reasons I never heard.

we've been socialized slowly over the past 40 years or so because the people of this country are greedy and lazy. (a bad combination)

Greed alone would have resulted in a high octane society where competitiveness was high and everyone had to work hard to get by.

But combining it with laziness meant the only thing people worked hard at was being lazy, and they found they could accomplish this by voting for the right people.

The few people who want to control everyone else jumped on the opportunities and promised the lazy people everything they wanted in exchange for their votes. Well the lazy people gave them their votes, and now the honest people are paying for the lazy people to sit around and do nothing.

    This is not capitalism.

i think of they could too. I truly have considered them wok out for years on end and whilst the couple ultimately gets to be together they are closer than any couple i understand that has in no way had the separation. The saying: "distance makes the middle advance fonder" truly is real. i understand a lot of folk who're no longer keen to submit with the strain and the subject concerns that arise from an prolonged distance dating, which to me is truly unhappy. i'm the form of individual who if i detect love I won't provide up for something. i'm presently in a single, so optimistically they are obtainable. Have a chuffed trip journeys

Communism is kinda on it's way out unfortunately. Capitalism shows no sign of going away, American and British imperalism are still thriving yet. One would simply need to look at Israel to see that imperalism, the highest form of capitalism, is still fit.

If anything is to replace capitalism it will probably be anarchy or a fascist economy...we're kinda f*cked one way or another.

Some form of capitalism will always be around. Its the driving force in technology and innovation.

Americans need to be smarter with there money and the gap between the rich and poor wouldn't be so great.

The only systems that can be used after capitalism are religious systems.

Capitalism for the masses is well on it's way "out". It will be replaced by totalitarianism.
