Boggling Questions-Weird Practices?

Do you like bearded men?or clean-shaved? or with little facial hair/mustache or beard ?

They say-

1. Some place in middle east, non-bearded men are classified as gay and have the highest possibility of being raped by men. T/F.

Do you know incident of these happening?Does it also make them gay as well?

2. Woman are not allowed to be seen in a company other than their family or relatives or they get lashes,or worst executed?

T/F

Is it a religious thing? culture or tradition perhaps?

Update:

Im just trying to understand these fact or fiction story, if there are some truth to it. It just seems weird and insane from my perspective if its true.

I don't know about the first point. I know our local Imam has a scraggly beard (he's only 23!), and most, but not all, of the male members of the mosque are bearded. I think that is just a fashion, or traditional fashion, but not having a beard doesn't make them homosexual.

As to the second point: yes, this does happen with certain orthodox Muslim groups. However, if you read the Qu'ran, this punishment is NOT mentioned. What is mentioned, is the need for modesty, not just for women, but for both sexes, and young and old. So that dictate for modesty, which makes a great deal of sense, has been extended to the extreme. The Qu'ran, like any other holy book, just like the Christian bible, can be, in the words of Harper Lee in To Kill a Mockingbird "more dangerous in [a man's] hand than a bottle of whiskey". And in our day and age, it has been shown again and again, that the Bible can be more dangerous than a gun. And so can the Qu'ran. That does not mean that Muslims and Christians are inherently violent; but it does mean that religious extremists can be (Jim Jones, et al.).
