What to do, when your girlfriend best friend is a guy who doesn't like you?

it sounds like your girlfriend has a male best friend who wants to be more than friends! I have a guy friend and I am married. It is totally platonic and my hubby and he get along well. If he doesn't like you, there is more than what meets the eye. Dont go into this relationship blinded by love.

Just be there for her, demonstrate you're the patient and mature one. If you two guys get into it over her (and she may be flattered or annoyed by that, or both, you can never tell) then you're sinking to a petty level.

If he's telling her you're not the right guy, just prove him wrong by being there. Eventually she'll see, if she's worth it and not just playing games for your attention, that you're the more secure and reliable one. It's possible she's testing you by saying he's threatened or something. It's also possible she's great and he's the problem, or that he's absolutely right about you. Just don't fall into the trap of being all controlling and angered by some other guy's connection to her, she chose you to date and he's "just a friend".

Maybe he is protective and watching out for his friend (your girlfriend). Maybe he may think you aren't good enough for her, or it could be that she is hurt from past boyfriends. Either way, if you are mature and care for her, he should not continue acting that way, unless he thinks that he is truly the one for her. There could be any number of reasons for his behavior. As long as you respect that they are friends, he should see that you are no threat to their friendship and will hopefully come to accept you though time. If he doesn't change that negative attitude, then it could just be that he is really caring for your girlfriend as more than just a friend.

Hmm, toughie. Well, whatever you do, don't bad mouth him if he says anything bad about you. Act like the bigger man, and never say you don't like him. Make out to your girlfriend that he's a cool guy.

Or actually make an effort with him, talk to him about it and tell him you want to be at least civil for your girlfriend's sake.

some friends are very protective, depending on her relationship with your girl, you really shouldn't care whether he likes you or not, if you trust your girl and you know there's nothing going on between them, then don't worry about him. He really have no reason to not like you if he's a good friend, unless you're hurting his friend somehow, if that's not the case, then don't worry about him

Don't worry about it. hes probably worried your going to hurt her. after a wile he will relies that your a good guy and will start to like you.

as much as it would be nice if he liked you its not a requirement, so he doesnt like you Fck him, you dont need his approval its your gf chances are he doesnt like you because your dating her and he wants to, thats not bad for you that just means when he slips up you can point it out to her and she wont want to talk with him ever again.
