Do you think you could be in love with more than one person at the same time?

I don't know about other people but I have been in love with two people at the same time. I was deeply in love with my girlfriend and also deeply in love with one of my best friends. It's a terrible situation to be in and everyday I wished I could stop loving my friend. Now my girlfriend and I have broken up and the friend I'm in love with has a boyfriend... an even worse situation. But anyway I dealt with it by just letting things play out, it's important not to do anything that could destroy friendships or relationships.

You are talking about polyamory (sp?). A polyamorous relationship involves loving 2 or more people equally. It is a very difficult type of relationship to maintain as it requires a lot of work and communication. However a few people do find it suits them. For me I have never had the experience but I am aware of the practice. My recommendation would be communication and work at it if you want both of them. Otherwise you will have to make a choice and if you don't it will be made for you.

Yes! It's possible to be in love with more than one person at the same time. To those who say that it isn't true love I disagree. I've been in love with two guys at the same time. It was painful and confusing but it was definitely love. I didn't act on it though as I was scared of the consequences. If only life was easier and simpler...

how do you quantify loving?

You might love the behaviour of someone and the way another have sex with you.So how do you quantify these since you would probably be in love with these two people.

I think it depends on the way each of those people treat and accept because defintely two people can never love someone the same way.

You can love so many persons at a time. But you can give your body & soul to only one person. That is real love. Guess it now. Choice is yours.

some times it happens but that would not be a healthy relationship, certainly it will harm the 3 people associated with.
