temperature records?

I read yesterday that many parts of my area have broken temperature records dating back 75 years. My question is this: If global warming is a man-made phenomonon, what caused the high temps back then???

    It isn't a man made phenomenon. The debate, despite one sides insistence to the contrary, is a long way from over.

    Weather.

    Global warming isn't a giant blowtorch that makes every part of the planet hotter all the time. There are still weather variations which cause some areas on some days to be cooler, others hotter, etc.
