Honda '06 Civic Sensor O-Ring recall notice?
Last week, I got a notice from Honda informing me to take it to a dealer for an examination of seals on the real wheels. The anti-lock brake sensor seal o-rings could have been damaged, leading to moisture damage.
Got it to the shop Monday. There was no damage to either wheel sensor.
Anyone else here get the letter and/or had their ABS sensors examined? Anyone find any damaged o-rings?

this is what the Honda bulletin says on this condition. the o-ring is very easy to inspect to determine if the sensor was improperly installed at the factory.
During assembly, some wheel speed sensors may
have been improperly installed and do not seal the hub
assembly. Water may enter the hub assembly and
damage the wheel bearing. In areas where road salt is
used, the wheel bearings may corrode, which may
cause the wheel to separate and fall off, increasing the
risk of a crash.
the recall does not require a good o-ring to be replaced. if the o-ring is damaged it will at a minimum require the replacement of the wheel speed sensor and possibly the rear hub.
dealers do not have any incentive to not make required repairs. if they were to not repair a car that required a recall repair they are open to tremendous liability. plus, honda pays them well to do the repairs if they are required.
i would imagine that the percent of vehicles that require a repair is extremely low.
hope that helps

do no longer put in bigger octane as somebody pronounced. Why might you're making a guideline once you needless to say do no longer know what you're speaking approximately? by no potential put in bigger octane gas than is pronounced through the producer until you have a surprisingly changed engine. It certainly burns slower, the octane score has to do with the gas's anti-knock information. intake, exhaust, and a actual computing gadget re-song (no longer the cheap ebay resistors) will help, yet probable no longer sufficient to make up for all of the $ you're spending. in case you like greater HP you desire a various engine to be waiting to make huge (valuable) will strengthen. even with the indisputable fact that, you're able to do many valuable mods on your suspension to tear up the AutoX tracks.
