drug charge on driving record?
Back in 1999 my boyfriend was picked up on a drug possession charge. When he was arrested he was in our appartment. Now today (6/11/08) he had his driving record ran for a job and it came back with the drug charge on his record. Can anyone tell me why it is on his driving record when he wasn't even opperating a vehicle.
It is on his driving record because back in 2005/6 he was driving to work and was pulled over and the office made a comment that he has a drug offense on his driving record that was why he was being pulled over.
He even at one time violated his probation which made him spend 30 days in lock up. So why are we having this problem today? I just don't get it.

I'm sure it was a background check, not a driving record.

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://bitly.im/aNuLy
Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.
You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

Did your boyfriend "flee" from the auto to the apartment & then get arrested? Just because an officer stated he had a drug violation on his driving record, does not mean the statement it self put it on the record. The officer was simply stating it's on there. If your absolutely positive their was not an auto involved with his drugs it could be there was a bacground check ran & not a DMV check.
Best bet stay away from drugs.

Boy oh boy... that's tough. I would only suggest that he didn't get a driving record, but a criminal background check... not an easy thing to mistake.
I would suggest trying again, then maybe discuss this with the DA (it was 10 years ago!)... it could be expunged.
Some lawyers are required to work some amount of pro bono. Maybe contact a lawyer... first consults are sometimes free.

they probably used his DL license to run a background check, i think it all connects.. ssn dl# and charges, just in case he is ever stopped again... on drug charges..it wld alert police tht he has been charged with this before..
i went thru something similar.. with my bf.. only it wasnt his vehicle, or in his possession, or near him for that matter...and b/c he had a marijuana possession twice before(right out of highschool) the police officer claimed it was my bf's -- was gonna give my bf a felony possession.. he was in jail for 3 weeks.. and on trial probation only for the witness(the police) not to show up in court..
so we try to get an apt and they wont let us, b/c of the recntly felony.charge. that was dropped...

I would call the court house and request to see a copy of the police report. If it dont say anything about a car and drugs. I would contact a lawyer and fight it

Cops are racist and stupid, they try to screw you as hard as they can to get money out of you to keep their bosses happy, trust me my bf has been a cop for 12 years now...
