Why do people on Yahoo answers keep there questions and answers private ?

Reasons to do that:

They don't want people tracking and harassing them. You can see them if you add them as a contact.

Some people are private, and want some privacy. They may want to ask a question that they don't want everyone to know about.

There are a lot of trolls on this site who love to pick on some of us and turn us in for supposed violations of the rules. Why make it any easier for them to find my answers? Let them work for it. As for "hiding" my questions because I might be the troll or a cheater, I've been a member since last September and would have been caught long before this since we only got the option of keeping our accounts private recently. I'd be more worried that the folks that opened the accounts in the last 30 days are the trolls or cheaters.

Its like a game of hide and seek, you see some of these alter egos people invent for themselves are just truly ridiculous, and they try to have some fun with them at the same time

their not at all comfortable with others being as silly to them as they are to everyone else so its like a safe room, eeeek

To stop reporter trolls going through our profiles and reporting everything.

well sometimes my friends know when i ask a question but i don't want them to see some of my other questions, if that makes any sense

They just dont want people checking up on their business. Stalkers are not fun.

so that trolls can`t go on their profiles and look at all their questions/answers so they can report all of them

but i dont keep mine private, maybe i should...

I think some people are embarrased and if their friends look at their profile they'd be teased!

to keep haters from scrolling through them reporting at will
