HPV shot question: becoming sexually active in the middle of the series?

I just had the first shot of the series (second shot after 2 months, third after 6 months) today. I've had a boyfriend for 6 months and we've been talking about having sex for the first time this summer—we're both virgins, so there would be no risk of being exposed to HPV by having sex with him, right?

Would it be unsafe to have sex for the first time in the middle of the HPV series? I've done a little research, but I'm still unsure about it all. Thanks for your help!

Update:

Oh we'd definitely use a condom. Thanks for the information! I'm glad it'd be safe.

Yes, there is always a chance of getting HPV. HPV is NOT considered a sexual transmitted disease. HPV can be spread from mother to newborn child, HPV can be spread from foreplay, etc. HPV is a virus that lies within the dermis layer of your skin and is transferred by skin-to-skin contact, not through the exchange of bodily fluids. So it doesn't matter whether you're having sex or not, you can still transmit it and FYI, men do not know if they have it or not, we cannot be tested for it and we cannot be treated for it...pretty scary stuff huh?

Even if he's a virgin, too, the papillovirus can be present, so you'll want to use a condom every time until you're fully protected.

The genital wart virus is the same virus that puts warts on places where they do not lead to cancers, like our hands. Many people carry it.

You can have sex while having the shots and you're both virgins, you most likely can't get it. Just use protection to be sure. There's nothing stopping u from havin sex though.

It would be safe to have sex, just use a condom! You should be doing that anyway.
