Which U.S. state has the most lakes and how many?

My sons homework several weeks ago was on this topic, and I couldn't believe it said that Florida has the most lakes followed by Alaska..I'm a native Floridian and never knew that. Hey you learn something new everyday. Central Florida is a great area to live.

Looking to move and seeking lakefront property. The more lakes there are, the cheaper the property.

Alaska. We have more than 3 million lakes. Most are in remote locations and wouldn't be very convenient for a lake-side home. Lakefront property is very expensive in the major cities.

I'm not sure which state has the most, but I do know that Minnesota doesn't have the most. Wisconsin technically has more lakes. Minnesota has a larger total area in lakes, however.

Minnesota, land of a thousand lakes! They all look like Siberian lakes. Why don't you go for quality, like Lake Tahoe?
