There are many decent brands available---Sherwin Williams, Mautz,
Dutch Boy, etc.
I would recommend using a satin finish rather than a flat, especially if you have children.
Have fun

I've used Glidden, Behr & Sherwin Williams paints and I've been pretty happy with the performance of all of them. The only times I've had to do more than one coat was when I went from a white to dark, dark, dark. All other colors (deep mauve, yellow, tan) all only required one coat regardless of the brand.

with paint ya get whatever ya pay for, and they have some high quality paints that cover in one coat~!!!
go to like Ace Hardware, or your local Home Depot and ask for their best quality one coat paint, they will set you up with the right stuff~!!!

well benjamin moore claims one of the best paints available to the public is their affinity line
they claim you just need one coat but personally i would still prime before putting any color up
