this is because 'american' isn't considered a race.

for example i was born in the united states, grew up in canada and new zealand. my mom is of korean and sudanese descent. my father is Jewish. this would make me biracial.

    I'd be An African-Asian Jew.

I actually don't believe in race we are all one race the human race.

but there is DEFINITELY no such thing as american as a race.

    according to wikipedia

"The term race or racial group usually refers to the concept of dividing humans into populations or groups on the basis of various sets of characteristics.[1] The most widely used human racial categories are based on visible traits (especially skin color, cranial or facial features and hair texture), and self-identification"

They are asking you what race of human you are.

    1)American is not a race, it's a nationality

    2) "Human" is not a race of human.

The majority of us would be considered multi-racial. Caucasians have different distinctive features too.
