i just got off customer support , i had 4 separate people tell me that if the laptop was shipped from the factory with a crack in the screen , it isn't covered under the defective materials ,, on the warranty ,, so you buy the laptop and if you don't buy the warranty , you need to spend $400 to get it fixed even if it got to you already cracked :) call Reference to TOSHIBA #s are 100615 001144 and # 100617 002048 just in case toshiba is wanting to check it out :)

i bought a new laptop , within 2 months the lcd cracked , it wasn't dropped or anything i had noticed a small defect in the screen but didn't think anything of it as it was really small well, it cracked a little about 1/4 inch into the screen viewable area , so back to the store i went , 2 months old , and i find that its not covered :( i also found that they said ( 4 different people ) from calling the 1800 # that if it got cracked from the factory and they didn't notice it and i noticed it on the first day , my only option was to return it to the store as it isn't covered under there defects in materials either

so as i will soon need another new laptop as i am not spending another $400 to fix this one is there a company that stands behind there product ? the reason i didn't buy the warranty is it didn't cover theft and my home owners will , but my home owners doesn't cover defects only damages

i have been researching it/them , they say those plans work the best i want to improve on it, i have built 3 types so far all similar ,and want to try others and have ideas on how to make them better the more ideas /plans i see the better i think i can build them or improve on them

my frustrations i fix cars for a living i get very few complaints on what i do

my gripe is when people fix it them selves or ask me to use there parts i get complaints like why are my wheels turning black(#1 complaint with auto zone pads) or they have a life time warranty why did they go bad so quick (pads starters alternators)

do any of you pro's see this as a problem

especially all the people here on this site that reccomends useing thoes parts as a solution

if i had to warranty them it would put me out of buisness

it says some updates are downloaded and ready to install but they error also service pack 3 installs almost completly thain says it cant access service pack 3 and uninstalls its self how can i fix this without reinstalling my opp system

a friend of mine went to (best buy) to get a new computer

he told the salesman he needed the computer to connect wirelessly the salesman assured him it had a wireless card in it so he bought it ------ when he got it all set up he found the wireless didn't work so he went back to (best buy) only to find the computer didn't have a card in it of course he was upset he started to make noise to the computer geek people there there fix was to offer him a new card to install in his computer thier words " would you accept one off the shelf" he said yes thinking he had solved his problem he left the store only to get stopped at the door and arrested for shoplifting his court case is in August

they list japanise,, korean,, african but not american ..

why not??

it has win xp home i lost the xp cd i have other xp home cd's but the tosheba licence wont work with it how can i install with my existing licence with out buying another one

it just went dead (no power) it was pluged in batery showed 100 % just before it died there is no power anywhere no lichts etc.

i tested the power suply (plug in ac adapter)

its ok

if this were my tower pc i would be testing the power suply next thain toss out the mother bord

do laptops have a power suply in them or is it built into the battery

can they run with a battery removed??

could a bad battery cause this??

did the mother bord fry

its a tosheba satilite running win xp pro
