toshiba laptop , why would any one ever buy one ?

i just got off customer support , i had 4 separate people tell me that if the laptop was shipped from the factory with a crack in the screen , it isn't covered under the defective materials ,, on the warranty ,, so you buy the laptop and if you don't buy the warranty , you need to spend $400 to get it fixed even if it got to you already cracked :) call Reference to TOSHIBA #s are 100615 001144 and # 100617 002048 just in case toshiba is wanting to check it out :)

Update:

i spisifically asked if the screen got cracked while it was being assembled and the trim covered it so they shipped it . why isnt it covered , they said it wasnt . and why does a crack that it got before i got it cost me $400 that is really not fair

Update 2:

and there is no physacal damage to the laptop or the box even the store and servise say it doesnt look like it was damaged dropped or anything

God, don't even get me started on Toshiba laptops...I had one and TWO harddrives went bad in six months that Toshiba would not replace

This would be a problem of the shipper (UPS or FED EX) and should be reported to them if the box showed any damage or had been crushed or dropped. Toshiba has no way of knowing if you dropped it or the carrier that delivered it.

all pc's have pretty much the same crappy warranty. that why i got a Mac. not because its an apple product. just because of the service and support you get from owning a Mac. its like a community of friends almost. that welcome you with open arms. you wont get that service with any pc.
