Tomorrow is Flag Day?

I love unfurling....

And our freedom is precious...

So...YES.

Yes, I think of freedom every day and how very quickly we could lose it if we allow empathy to take foot.. Some have been eroded already and we often don't even fully realize it until they are gone . Empathy can be a powerful blinder at times.

I just returned from an art show that I had displayed some work. Beside me was a poem and some interesting art work from a soldier who had just spent over 1 year in Iraq. As I read the intensity of the words I thought how very grateful I was to live here and be an American, and have far more freedoms than many in others countries who have basically only lived under oppression. Freedom is everything. Freedom gives you choices and hope.

Freedom is essential. Freedom is a necessity. When the flags are unfurled tomorrow, let freedom ring. :)

You know what the sad thing is I would not have known if I had not come on here tonight. I will where my flag pin at work tomorrow. Nothing was said on the news, nothing in the papers to remind people, this is sad.

We have a flag flying from our Apt. building. My stepfather in Fl. delighted in nailing that flag up while I was trying to sleep. :) He was in the Merchant Marines during World War 2. I am glad you reminded me that tomorrow is Flag Day.

I display my flag proudly and I say I silent thank you to the men and women that protect my freedom.
