my 4 month old english bulldog weighs 11 pounds?

My husband and I have a 4 month old AKC English Bulldog. We purchased her for $2000 from a breeder. The vet has done a health check (2 times), and hasn't said anything about her being underweight. Is this weight a little under? I am thinking she should weigh at least 24 pounds. She isn't a miniature (that we were told). She eats on a schedule (3 times a day) about 1 and 3/4 cup at each feeding.

Any help would be appreciated.

Wow... that's kind of small. We have an almost 9 week male (well, going to new owners tomorrow) anyways, vet weighed him today and he already weighs 12.6 lbs... I couldn't believe it. Maybe she has a fast metabolism... plus females are a little smaller... but yeah, that's kind of small for that age.

    4 Month Old English Bulldog

That doesn't sound right, my 11 week old bulldog puppy was weighed yesterday and he weighs 24 pounds already! He eats 3 times a day each time is about 200gms dry food moistened with some warm water and a small portion (about a dessert spoon full) of mince mixed with pasta, rice and vegies with some flaxseed oil to bind it. What are you feeding her? You need to check that the food she is eating is specially designed for puppies as they need more fat than other dogs and special nutrients for their growing bodies, you should also maybe look for a puppy formula designed for large dogs as there are some special puppy growth formulas specially designed for big breeds to help them rach their ideal weight. Keep an eye on her and I really think if you are concerned (and I would be) that you should voice your concerns to the vet. Good luck

She's a little underweight but like many people said females are usually smaller and since she is AKC then look at her mom and dad if they are smaller than she will be small too and also look at what pick of the litter she is, might be the runt and takes a while to grow, my 4 month old is 12.6 and he's a male and I think he is huge for his age

Dog training are excellent and very helpful to build you a stronger relationship with your dog. Read more https://tinyurl.im/KupNF

After I started training my dog, he became very attached to me and loves to stay by side as long as he can. But just going to them won't help. You have to practice what they teach you outside of the class and you need to keep up with it at least every now and then after the class ends otherwise they'll just go back to previous habits. This course is a really good place to go for dog obedience classes. It get's your dog around other people and dogs to socialize while getting the training you need. As for electric collars, I would say to not get one. In my experience, they're only a negative effect on your dog. I mean of course you're going to need to correct your dog, but being positive and encouraging your dog works a lot faster and easier.

Every dog is different, so unless you have a german shepherd or a really smart dog, it might take a while to train her. You might get frustrated with her, but go easy. She's still a puppy and has a lot of energy. A backyard or somewhere to run will help her get rid of a lot of energy that might cause her to misbehave from boredom.

Some times they are just smaller I wouldn't worry if your vet isn't. I have seen a lot of full breed dogs have some puppies that end up being smaller than their brother's and sister's. Just keep on loving you new baby, and don't worry it will either catch up or be a little smaller than most. Good luck

well i thought that 11 pounds at 4 months would be overweight

i have a pug also know for snoring and weight but he is 1 year and 8 months. he is only 20 pounds and is overweight

or so the vet says that he is.

She's still young! Don't worry about it yet, unless the vet mentions something.
