Maybe. I was suprised to hear that his autopsy was complete within 12 hours of his death. They found a solid clot in his anterior coronary artery. He could have had clot develop in his leg while sitting for so long on the plane, the clot worked its way through is circularory system until the clot was to big to pass thru the narrow artery in his heart, it block blood passage to his heart, his heart was deprived of red blood cells which carry oxygen, heart muscles went without oxygen and his heart's electricity conduct got all F-ed up and he died. They say he was alive when he got to the ER but that just means that his heart showed some elctrical conduction but no enough that is condusive to life and he died.

Very sad. I loved Tim! RIP

He had long-term heart problems, though they were under control ... however he was in Italy until Wednesday so it could be connected.

Could be...though the symptoms and outcome would be essentially the same as a heart attack.

The news report says that he died from a heart attack, but i think that it had to do with what you said.
