Is it normal for a 18 month old baby to sleep this much??

My friend has a son who sleeps from 6:30-7pm until between 8:30 and 10am, and still has 1-3 hours sleep during the day.

My kids never slept that much, and I know every child differs, I was just wondering if that is too much sleep? Should she wake him at a certain time in the morning or let him sleep?

By the way i'm not being nosy or interefering, she has asked me to get other mum's opinions!!

Thanks xx

Yes it falls in the normal range according to my Dr. and "What to expect during the toddler years" book. I have a 25 month old that sleeps from 8pm until 9:30am and still naps from 1:30pm until 5:00pm. I have 4 kids and she is the only one to do this.

my neice was sleeping a lot and she is 10 months old.

The doctor checked her blood and told us that her iron was

a little low. she is taking iron drops now until she is about a year old and then they are going to check it again. But she still sleeps alot to . she is fine other than her iron
