Isn't it about time that all managers, decision makers, politicians and captains of industry were qualified?

Large numbers of societies managers make very bad decisions on a daily basis because they are not adequately trained and qualified. Shouldn't rigourous training to high standards be a prerequisite for any management or leadership post? What else could be done to boost the quality of national, international and business decision making?

our government is a fine example... with the air force leading the way... maybe we should change the status quo from the top down.... I know far too many people who have gotten their positions because of who their "daddy" is etc... anyone who's ever worked under this kind knows, they dont know what the hell they are doing, but they sure move up the ladder like they do!

Yeah right. A degree in leadership? To ISO 9001 perhaps?

Who would set the examinations? Who would teach that?

There was a psychological study done about 10 years ago where a lot of politicians, city financiers and top businessmen were given psychological profiling and all of them were diagnosed as being psychopaths.

They are all law abiding gangsters who are paranoid psychopaths. They always will be as well, they are the people who reach the top. This is so and always will be so.

Old school tie and 'Establishment' are the words which come to mind as a qualification and explanation. However add to that list funny handshakes, old boy network and the fact that our Security Services are running amok and so completely out of control that democracy itself is teetering on the edge.

I know this may sound like a very stupid idea - but what about a meritocracy for a change?

As far as the politicians, if they don't vote or do as they say they will-have a recall and get rid of them

At the very least-do not reelect them

For the corporate sector, who is to say they are making bad decisions. They are making the decisions they have been instructed to make.

Not necessarily - sometimes they were too busy building the company in the first place
