I would like a real answer to this, please: Without fail, when someone asks a question about atheists, some?
religious type chimes in with, "they just don't want to give up their sinful lifestyle." Which lifestyle is that, precisely? What is it that these people think we are doing?
I know, batgirl. I know...=0)

Babe, We just want you to give up your sinful lifestyle. Save you Atheists from hellfire and damnation. :O
Seriously, People who so freely judge others are clearly not true Christians. Te be Christian is to strive to be "Christ like".
The scriptures say, "judge not lest you be judged". Also:
"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."
Babe, In my opinion, these hypocrites need to do some "house cleaning" themselves!!

Not wanting to give up "a lifestyle of sin" contradicts not
believing in the concept of sin. Most of the nastiest, lyingest,
thievingest, most violent and hypocritical persons I kno
believe in Jesus. Dont lemme leave out mean spirited, selfish,
distrustful and untrustworthy. They look at me like I'm crazy
since I dont have Jezuks. LOL
You kno its tru, too. Thats why I'm LOL because its a hoot. I'm
like, if I was to believe in Jesus, YOU couldnt lead me there.

Atheist don't have sin in their lives, you have to be a believer in god to have sin. For Christians the OT Law=Sin which is paid for by death either through their death or Jesus death once paid they are not obligated to the law which means they are sin-free.
Of course Christians don't understand this concept because those that govern their religion would be out of business if they did.
anyway when they say Atheists are sinners they are wrong. What individuals believe is right or wrong are of their own moral convictions and not sin as described in the bible.
in my opinion most atheists are less morally challenged then Christians and have better values that judge people for who they are and not what they are.

The religious make the assumption that people choose atheism as an excuse for sinful behavior. What they can't understand is that, just as in the christian world, there are people who behave properly and people who behave improperly. The whole thing about atheism is rationality. For most of us it is a waste of time to believe in things for which there is no credible evidence.

Silly, they mean our tendency to criticize people for being homosexual while secretly taking out gay rent boys and snorting crystal meth, funding warmongering political parties and investing in countries like Liberia and China because that's where the money is, and taking huge sums of money off poor and vulnerable people to service our taste for lavish extravagance... Oh, I'm sorry, that's not atheists I'm thinking of, it's someone else. What was I thinking.

Having some git we could just ask to forgive us all the time would not force us to give up anything "sinful" either. This is simply another product of the overarching inability of theists to reason.

I think they really believe that I am or we are a bunch of sycophant, psychopathic, masochistic, sadistic, nihilist, who have lost all altruist nature and are only here to damn the world.
Where they get that out of a definition that says no belief in deities is beyond me.

They are just jealous that we can do the things they are afraid to do. Even if we don't do them either. For instance, it is really inconvenient to slather yourself in petroleum jelly, pour flour on yourself, and run around the neighborhood naked waving a sword in circles over your head. Don't ask me how I know this. <blink>

Obviously if we're not worshiping their god we must be leading a sinful lifestyle. It goes without saying. Why would we deny their god unless we wanted to be wanton, hedonistic sinners? (They can't seem to understand that we don't *choose* to disbelieve)

The same thing we are doing.
Some answers really get to me. I can understand why some look down on Christians.
