Hey Chicagoans! Taking lunch suggestions!?

Headed to the Windy City for the first time! Looking for a great, quintessential Chicago place to get lunch. Oh, and nothing too fancy or high falutin'. Hopefully, someone can suggest a place either near Wrigley or Navy Pier or the Affinia Chicago hotel.

Thanks & let's go Cubbies!!!!

Go to Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder on Clark Street.

    Cash only.

it's across the street from the scene of St. Valentine's Day massacre.

it has amazing flat bread and salad and pizza pot pies. sooooo yummy and affordable and POPULAR.

    loves it.

Well Goose Island is about 4 doors down Clark Street from Wrigley field there food is really good and it's reasonably priced. They are a brewpub resturant.

The Billy Goat Tavern right by Navy Pier has great American Food as well and not too expensive. Oh and I forgot Joe's Be Bop Cafe and Jazz Emporium is a fun type of resturant with southern type food. website www.joesbebop.com

I don't live in Chicago but visited recently. There is a restaurant in the NBC building, first floor...can't remember the name but ate lunch there a couple of times. It's a real local place...lots of business people, not to mention the people that work in the NBC tower, eat there. It is good food and inexpensive. Salads, sandwiches, wraps, soups, daily specials, etc. You might even see Ellen eating her alfalfa sprouts there...no, they say she gets hers to go. We stayed at the Sheraton (the round one on the lake and the river) and the NBC building is diagonally across the street. It's also near Navy Pier.

If you like Sushi, the best Sushi in Chicago, by far, is Sushi X. The original is on Chicago and Milwaukee area and the second location is on Diversey just north of Lincoln Park. You will love it. The owner is John Suh. He and his brother are the owners, managers and chefs. You will not be disappointed.

There's a great place near Wrigley called Uncommon Ground - it's at Grace and Clark - with excellent sandwiches and coffee.

Actually there are so many restaurants at Navy Pier...that you could make a day of it....there's Bubba Gumps, there is a Billy Goat tavern at the pier and you must hit up dippin dots on Navy Pier...there's a slew of restaurants on the pier...have a great time in our city and welcome. ann sather's is pretty popular; they have multiple locations around the city. they have a location around broadway:

but here's the address, etc. of the one in wrigleyville:

as you can see, they're pretty famous for their cinnamon rolls, but they're a swedish restaurant, and i recommend any of the dishes you'd expect - their swedish pancakes & potato pancakes.
