okay, I got a question for all you good in math, okay here goes. The other day I stopped and pumped gas.?

I pumped 16.246 gal @ $3.879 pre qallon, to the tune of $63.02, the question is, why is it that the gallons and price amunt don't equal to the dollar amount spent? Given the amount spent there appears to me that gas is already $4.00 a gallon or the gas pumps are ripping us off. marking one price and pimping the customer with another.

You are American on an Australian site and you have US gallons not imperial gallons that is why your equation doesn't work out.

Hi this because the gas price are regulated by interstate of commerce. Customer will never get the benefit of the doubt. Bu tthere is away we can stop the hi gas prices and that is don't buy gas at Exxon or Mobil because they are the major suppliers. Past the word!!! Take Care, God Bless!!!

when I multiply it out, 16.246 gallons at 3.879 a gallon, I get $63.018234, which the pump will round up to $63.02. you got what you paid for.
