Mobile home park rules?

A friend recently bought a mobile home in a park. She read the rules and agreed to them but it seems that the manager is taking things a bit more literally than her.

The rules say "no swimming pools". This is understandable but is it reasonable to expect this to include a 1 foot deep plastic wading pool?

The rule says "no fences". Is it reasonable to expect this to mean a small 1 foot high ornamental fence bordering a flower bed?

The rule says "no more than 4 occupants". Is it reasonable to expect that if you move in with 2 toddlers and get pregnant you will be kicked out of your home?

The rule says "no dogs". Is it reasonable to expect visitors not to visit with their dogs?

Update:

To answer questions asked:

These are all things that have been complained about over the past 6 months since the purchase. Cats are allowed. Some homes have fences, pools, dogs and larger families. The manager says they are

"Grandfathered", they were there before the new rules went into effect.

I would contact the management company or the owner, these seem to be more likely an attack on you personally then obeying the "letter" of the rules. As for the "no dogs" as long as the dog does not reside with you they don't have a leg to stand on.

It is reasonable to expect people to follow the rules.

No pools...well it was just a little one.

No fences..well it was just a little one.

Yes, it is not only reasonable to expect your guests not to bring their dogs to visit, it's extremely rude if they do. "No dogs" doesn't just refer to the resident, but their guests as well. Dogs poop and don't pick it up. Dogs bite. etc.

What it sounds like to me is an accumulation. In other words if she only broke ONE rule. ...just a little bit, it might have been overlooked. Your friend would have been smart to have asked before she put the pool out, if this pool was considered a pool.

There are reasons the rules are in place. If the park pays the water, which most do, and everyone in the park is filling up the plastic pools everyday, they lose money. Granted, not everyone is doing that, but if they let your friend do it, then everyone else can. If you leave the pool out there all the time, it is an eyesore and attracts mosquitos.

The owner is opening himself to a certain liability if someone walking in the park at night trips over that 1'fence.

"Grandfathering" is perfectly legal. When one of those tenants moves out, the new tenant will have to follow the new rules also.

Some places have no pets rule. It is for safety, cleanliness, elimination of pet poop all around, and for allergies.

Does the rule only say "no dogs," or does that also include cats, and other pets. I know it is not uncommon for persons to have allergies to pets, and it cause a medical problem for pets to be close by. I know of a person that had to go to the hospital and get a short, because of a terrible reaction to a cat.

Well if you move in and then get pregnant I do believe by law they cannot kick you out. The other things seem a little ridiculous. But if that's what the manager says then I guess you have to follow it.

my mother-in-law lives in a mobile home park and they always had the pool and fence rule, but there is no problem with her grandsons kiddie pool or garden fence.

are you saying that he complain about these things or are you worried he might?

    cuz thats a little ridiculous.
