Seriously, it's all about just getting up and leaving. There is no way to just get rid of him. YOU have to take the initiative to do the moving. If he's stuck around for years, he won't just go know. I've seen it with my aunt. Her life is not how she expected it to be. They were together since before 1980. She became an alcoholic, and recently slit her wrists in a drunken stupor. She survived, but left because her husband was abusive and horrible to her. If she didn't leave, she might have never gotten out of such an unhealthy relationship, and she might have even tried to commit suicide again.
I'm not saying that you are like her, but it just shows that he won't leave. You really do have to be the first to take action.
Good luck.

Tell him in terms so he can understand it that you do not want to be with him anymore. If he persists further then start keeping track of when he bothers you, record phone calls, etc. Then you have grounds for going to the police and see if your area has a stalking law. Arestraining order should only be used if he has threatened you in some way.

you, threaten him that if he dont leave you alone you will ruin the rest of his life. he wont leave u alone, so take action. He will get er it dont worry about hurting him, he hurts u by not leaving u alone, so you tell him what you thimk and if he dont like it or it hurts, thats tough!! Kick his *** or have someone do it. mabey even involve you parents, im sure they are on ur side! good luck, everything will be fine. promise

If you live with him, throw his things out and change the locks on your door.
If you live with your parents, ignore him completely and get a restrain order if he continues stalking you.

If it's that serious, try a restraining order.
Change your phone number, your email address, etc.
Avoid contact with him as much as you can.

Mean what you say and don't give in. Get someone to help you and just leave, no looking back.

trust me,i know how that is. just tell him it's over and that you will be happier without him, even though that's a bit harsh or just show him this question and its answers

get someone to "speak to him" and "politely remind him" that he is harassing you, and its best to move on. Done properly, he should never contact you again.

slap him in the face with a fresh fish.
works every time.
