Mileage on a 99 Shadow Ace 750 ?
Is 24k miles on a 1999 Honda Shadow Ace 750 considered a lot or borderline with mileage on that engine? I'm looking for my first bike and want to be careful about a high mileage bike because I'll probably want to upgrade (sell or trade in) within a year or so and want to have optimal value. I'll probably only put a few thousand miles on it at best.

I'm a fan of that bike. NO, 24K isn't to much, in fact that's only about 2500ish a year. Question number one.......does it run now? #2. Was the oil changed now and then? Otherwise I think it will be wonderful. By running now i mean has it been parked for a couple years and is it all gummed up by stagnant fuel? . The sprockets and hain may need replacing. That's not a lot of miles. It really depends on how well the owner maintained the bike. If they changed the oil regularly and did the schedule maintenence, that's not a lot of miles at all. I have 43k on a '97 1400 Intruder. I take good care of it and it's in great shape.

No, thats not really that much at all.
What usually matters more than mileage is the overall condition of the bike. Does it look really worn like its lived outside its whole life? Has it been properly maintained?

not a lot of miles that model has less power than other shadow 750 models because honda used a common crankpin to get the Harley sound.
