Subwoofer stopped working?

I just got visonik 10" subwoofers and a 1,200 watt amp put in my car yesterday, and they seemed to have stopped working, already. I had them professionally put in, and they worked just fine until I was on my way to work, this morning...

I have the amp turned really low, as suggested by the installer, and also had the bass on my stereo turned very low, as suggested, to allow them to "break in" for the first 20 hours, but then they seemed to just stop working! There is this one song that the bass would be really loud on (even though everything was turned on as low as it could go), and they seemed to stop working while this song was playing. (I had my mp3 player plugged into the stereo in my car- could this be the problem? They were doing just fine with my mp3 player before that happened..)

I spent my ENTIRE day, yesterday, throwing money at this crap, and they end up breaking, anyways...

Yeah, sometimes high boosts of bass from peaks in volume can make the amp overdrive and basically blow your sub or damage your amp. Not to mention that visonik is a very very very cheap brand (no offense) and they are known to not last very long. Try getting a new sub. Try another brand like Kicker, alpine, kenwood, jl audio. Someone who is reputable. Good luck

That brand subwoofer is not built to handle a amp of that size the max is probably no more that 700 watts max. I suggest spend alittle more money and go to a car audio store, where they can help pick a better brand. Try to stay away for store that just throw the music in the car without adjusting anything like besbuy, and circuit city.

If in the starting up view, the amp appears like this is tremendous, verify the wiring to the sub. it may each so often vibrate loose, in spite of if you're utilising a short-connect or different kind of connecter. If it wasn't crimped down sufficient on the speaker cord, the cord could have slipped out after time. once those are checked and deemed to be in tremendous condition, i could artwork my previously through to the amp and in basic terms double verify fuses. do not supply 100% to those little lighting fixtures fixtures on the amp. they can supply a pretend effective each so often. besides, you position time and funds into progression this device,... and in case you paid someone to set it up for you, this is now time to get intimate consisting of your own stereo device. the probabilities of the sub in basic terms not operating hastily is narrow to none. in spite of if it became blown, you'll nevertheless get some noise out of it. If this is thoroughly useless, you likely have a loose cord someplace. good success and satisfied searching!
