How can I make (or get) Reeses peanut butter?

I don't mean the bland, corporate stuff they put into grocery stores a few years ago. It had the right label, but we all know that wasn't really Reeses PB! I want the real thing!

The closest thing I've had is mixing peanut butter with some dry milk and some confectioners sugar. Mix it to taste. The confectioners sugar gives it some sweetness without overpowering the peanut butter's salt. The dry milk gives it that "straight from the peanut butter cup" thick consistency without over sweetening it.

When you find a ratio of pb-to-sugar-to-milk that you like, it's fantastic in little patties with a bit of jam.

Reeses peanut butter in found inside Reeses Peanutbutter Cups. Just remove the chocolate and you will have it.

Try taking some ordinary PB (I like Jiff) and add some confectioner's sugar, about a tablespoon per half cup and see how that does for you. It works for PB balls.

    1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

    2/3 cup evaporated milk

    2 tablespoons butter or margarine

    1/4 teaspoon salt

    2 cups miniature marshmallows

1 2/3 cups butterscotch flavored morsels

    1/2 cup chopped nuts

    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    1. Line 8-inch-square baking pan with foil.

    2. Combine sugar, evaporated milk, butter and salt in medium, heavy-duty saucepan. Bring to a full rolling boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil, stirring constantly, for 4 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat.

    3. Stir in marshmallows, morsels, nuts and vanilla extract. Stir vigorously for 1 minute or until marshmallows are melted. Pour into prepared baking pan; refrigerate for 2 hours or until firm. Lift from pan; remove foil. Cut into pieces

Use lowfat peanut butter and add lots of powdered sugar. It will taste the same.
