The Mariners train wreck!?

The M's fired their hitting coach last week and fire the GM this week. What happened to the M's this year?

They get Bedard and Silva, but end up giving away George Sherrill and Jose Guillen. Other than that the team is basically the same team that won 88 games in 2007. The entire infield is the same, they still have Ichiro and Ibanez in the outfield. They still have their ace Felix Hernandez and one of the leagues top closers J.J. Putz.

How can a team one year win 88 games and next season come right back a loose 100? What do they need do be successful in 2008.

Their solid bullpen aint that solid anymore this year. JJ Putz have struggled this year completely. Their offense have totally decimated. Ichiro continues to be the only main blue chip bopper in a supposed-to-be tough lineup. The addition of Silva mite have hurt M's too. 7 losses, 5 ERA

first get rid of the home run or strike out (mostly strike out) sexson...and get Fields (University or Georgia Closer) into the majors as fast a possible.. and it doesnt help the second lowest starter Era on your team is near 6 and ichiro is batting below .300 and the fact none of your batters are hitting over .300 and they will prolly start to unload that team asap after firing the GM and bringing in a new one

Thank goodness the GM is gone. He made some really stupid choices. Besides that, the M's simply need a new team. Apparently no one feels like trying this year. I'm waiting for next year.

I feel bad for them, esp Ichiro and Ibanez. They have good players, but just can't seem to get it done. JJ needs to go. He's no good. They need hitters and pitchers.

Like you said, they have some top players in their team.. wonder what happened. i remember in the beginning there were thoughts of them doing well..

hmm, looks like they need some straightening out to do there..

they sure do suck this season. I think they are pretty much done this season. No way they are bouncing back. They got swept by the Nationals. yes thats right, THE NATIONALS!!!!!!!!

    there's always next season.
