Who is the best wrestler EVER in terms of technical skills that also managed to win the WWF/WCW/WWE title?

Too few of today's wrestlers are actual wrestlers. There are a few that are good wresterls, but too many are just big bulky face men.

Who, in your opinion, is the best true wrester in the history of wrestling entertainment?

I have my opinion but I want to hear yours. Please make a solid argument for your candidate. Best argument wins.

Update:

I have to admit, i always discredited Angle as a technical wrestler because to me, it seemed that it took him a long time to transition from professional wrestling to entertainment (simply put, he was a terrible actor for the first year he was in the WWE). But I like the arguments so far.

    Kurt Angle, without a doubt.

    1995 world champion

1996 olympic gold medalist with a "broken freakin neck"

3 time NCAA wrestling champion and

    3 time NCAA All American

    4-time WWE Champ

    1-time World Heavyweight Champ

    1-time WCW Champ

    2-time TNA champ

plus hes won tons of other titles in wreslting. The man is a beast.

  • In terms of technical skills, it'd probably go to Kurt Angle. His Olympic training and wrestling style heavily translated into great in-ring technical skills, which he displayed often against other great wrestlers like Chris Benoit, who he had a number of great mat classics against. The problem was that the technical wrestling declined a bit for Angle as he grew older. However, in terms of technical abilities, Angle could be the best of all time.

    Chris Benoit?

Although he was self-procaimed Excellence of Execution, I have to agree with him, so I'll go with Bret the Hitman Hart.

His technical skills were amazing as well as his desire to win - as evidenced by the Shawn Michaels screw-job.

    Good poll question!
