I find that, personally, belief in any Santa Claus is flawed in the fact that it requires suspension of disbelief, and those who believe in him all write letters to a person no one has seen. ;p

Because the Santa Claus fable was based on an actual person. Saint Nicholas of Myra. Nicholas was famous for his generous gifts to the poor and thus began the folklore of Saint Nicholas who over the years became known as Kris Kringle, Father Christmas, Santa Claus..etc..etc..etc..
