Chances of getting pregnant?

Okay, I'm on the pill and take it pretty much at the same time everyday. I've been on it for over 2 years now. My boyfriend wants to not use a condom and just rely on my birth control to keep me from getting pregnant. So what are the chances of getting pregnant?

Oh and I have PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome). I'm not sure if that effects my chances or not.

Update:

Just so you all know we both have been tested for STD's and HIV. We're clean :)

The Pill is 92-99.7% effective as birth control. If you both get tested (just in case) and know that there is an .03 - 8% chance that you will get pregnant - go for it! My sister got pregnant twice while on BC. You also have to be extra careful if you are on some medication (can reduce effectiveness) or if you miss a day.

    Good luck!

BC will protect you from getting pregnant, but not from STD. I think your boyfriend should wear a condom. Maybe you should both be tested for STDs?

I've heard that having PCOS, can effect getting pregnant. I would discuss this with your doctor at your next pap smear exam.

You can also research PCOS and pregnancy on the internet, at the library, etc.

    Good Luck!

When you were informed of having PCOS the doc should have told you if this would affect your fertility... if not you can always goolge it and find out.

I advise that if you do not want to become pregnant to continue using condoms. Bith control pills are not 100%. One of my friends became pregnant whilst taking these pills.

It is better to be extra careful!

you probably wont get knocked up. I was on it only for 6 months and then taken off b/c of blood clots and I never even had a scare...just dont take any other meds with it, especially antibiotics. But there is always that .1% that you could so be ready for it. if not tell the man to keep it under wraps till your totally prepared for a baby. I wouldnt keep that a worry on the top of your worry list though.

Just tell him to keep a condom on. Its just not about getting preggo.

    Think about STDs

on the pill? these days pretty good - even being an hour late can result in pregnancy, as can certain antibiotics and anti-depressants.
