CLASSIC COUNTRY FANS - Anyone else remember these songs and artists?

I'm currently building a classic country station that will ultimately stream and have come across some classic country songs that I remember - how about you? (I have all the ones you usually think of)

Movie Magazine Stars in Your Eyes - Barbi Benton

Sing A Happy Song / Lonely Men, Lonely Women - Connie Eaton

Slippin' Away - Slippin' Away

Our Hearts Are Holding Hands - Ernest Tubb & Loretta Lynn

We Need A Lot More Happiness - Wilburn Brothers

Don't Go Near the Indians - Rex Allen Sr.

Show Me - Barbara Mandrell

Drink Canada Dry - Bobby Barnett

Don't Change On Me - Penny DeHaven

This Generation Shall Not Pass - Henson Cargill

I'll Sign the Papers - Jeannie Seely

Sawmill - Mel Tillis

Soul of a Honky-Tonk Woman - Mel McDaniel

He's A Good Ol' Boy - Arlene Harden

Treat Me Like A Lady - Sherry Bryce

Pictures on Paper - Jeris Ross

One Tin Soldier - Skeeter Davis

No Charge - Melba Montgomery

Sometime Sunshine - Jim Ed Brown

Would anyone else enjoy these?

Update:

Edit: "Slippin' Away" is by Jean Shepard!

This is just a small sampling - I have LOTS more.

I remember these songs. Some were the "b" side of 45's but well noteworthy.

"Extra;got Barbi Benton's autograph on the cover of the "Playboy" mag she was in"

But these are all good songs and worth taking a listen to them. But todays radio stations do not know what good music is and they play this modified "POP".

I remember a number of them, but they were oldies when I was a kid.

I just saw Jim Ed Brown at the Ryman a couple weeks ago, though, and he BLEW ME AWAY. Fan-freakin'-tastic. he did the Three Bells.

    You need more Roger MIller.

    And Webb Pierce.

Are you interested in broadcasting real old time country? A friend has created a show for a Canadian station, but is not limited to that show. He has the real early, rare stuff. You can contact me offlist if you like.

    Thanks,

I remember - no charge, sawmill, and one tin soldier. I'm sure classic country fans will enjoy them. I'm sure you already have him - but don't forget Johnny Horton!

    Good luck
