He's not ready....wait till he's older...there really is no rush...try putting him back in a diaper...he might not like that at all and be more ready for an alternative...try going right to the toilet...he may be very uncomfortable on the potty

Take the training pants off and if he messes on the floor put him outside like the puppy dog. Then give him the alternative The potty or outside.
It worked for one of my grandsons. He was the most stubborn kid I ever saw!! He Refused!! to use the potty and would use his training pants.
We had gotten another puppy and was house breaking the puppy. My grandson did his thing in the training pants and so I took him outside took off his trainers and washed him down with the hose. Kept the training pants off and told him if he messed in the house it was outside just like the puppy.
He cried the first couple of times that day but just before his mother came to pick him up he wanted to go so I took him to the bathroom and put him on his special potty chair. He went and problem was solved.
After that we never had a problem either at home or when he was with us. My daughter asked how we had done it and I answered "you don't want to know"

The training pants are too comfortable...go back to the old original 'cloth' diapers with the 'rubber' pants that go over them. My daughter wore the cloth diapers one day and went to the potty ever since...
If it's any consolation, I've heard boys are harder to potty train than girls.

Maybe he isn't ready yet. I would start by changing him over to the cotton gerber training pants (you can get them at target or walmart) that will give him a better idea of what it feels like to be wet.

Take the training pants away completely - give him 'big boy underwear' if he goes in them, let him sit in it for a while, then change it. Eventually he will get the picture and not like being uncomfortable.

Give him a treat he likes or say I'll take you to the store if you use the toliet. Sometimes it would work.
