My life is mostly to work, to home to work again. It has slowed down anything I enjoy going out and doing, such as camping. I have been debating letting the bank take my truck, as I can't afford to drive it anymore, and make payments, so it sits in the driveway, and collects dust. If I lose it, my replacement is not a Prius, but a '73 Olds Delta 98 with a 455" engine (granny's old car)...just what I can then afford to buy with future wrecked credit. Yeah... this is forcing me to be green...not so much! This is not good either, as it just makes me bitter, and hate environmentalists that much more for locking up all of our resources, and making my personal fun time, and life in general suck!
If the greenies want to just sit at home, and breathe as little as possible to not make a carbon footprint, then that is their freedom to do so. When they force me to do that it is imposing Communism!
All of the reasons for high fuel prices are political...ALL OF THEM, and we have the resources to fix this whole crazy mess!!! We don't need the 'world market's prices' as we have the ability to be totally self sufficent! Kuwait's, and Venuzula's gas is pennies a gallon. Why??? Because they use their own resources, and don't buy from other countries!
I believe our economy is based more on the price of fuel than gold. Everything made takes fuel in some form to manufacture, and deliver to market. Wild, and rampant inflation is coming, as it has to to keep up with manufacturing costs. Even electricity is price based on fuel prices. Our country is in big trouble, and if they don't start taking steps to fix it. We will soon be using Amero's, and saluting the UN flag, as America can't afford this. Forclosures are the proof.
I had a truck driver tell me today that Wal Mart is planning a 2 week shipping boycott where they won't ship, or recieve any merchandise when the national average for diesel hits $5 a gallon. I think it's just truck driver BS, but what a great idea, and example it would set. Wal Mart would earn my respect if they have the guts to pull that off.
Source(s): Seen milk in a nearby convience store today for $6.29 a gallon! The Bible says a days wages for a sack of grain... I'm starting to believe it will really become that way! - R JLv 71 decade ago
We have been blessed is all I can say. I am worried about something. The republicans goofed up and allowed the democrats to take the senate and house and that was two years ago. Now look at what is going on. Gas more than doubled and really nothing else taht I know of. Thing is, could the country stand having a democratic president also and for four more years
Also don't drag race as much and changed the ports from 92s to 77s.
We really need someone to step up to the plate. Too bad others don't have the power, but that's the way it is. Hat's off to the democrats, keep it up and make sure no one drills for oil or anything and tax the heck out of oil stock and all those rich people that have to drive cars. take care.

A lot. I stay in more and read more books. I do not have enough money to go to my hang out places like bars, restaurants, or even go to a sporting event. Prices have also increased the price food and other goods, thus I am consuming less.
I also became a big supporter of Ron Paul and try to spread his word for a free market that works along with advocating the importance to be politically aware of the corruption that is within Washington and advocating change for the better by supporting politicians like Ron Paul and others who want change for the better unlike Barack Obama and John McCain who advocate change for the worse.
High gas prices have kept me out of trouble and into learning about the problems occurring in America by staying in more.

I made several changes.
I bought a Chrysler Sebring. It gets 31 MPG without costing me the extra money for an import. That saves me about $3000/year.
I moved to the town I work in. That saves me about $1500/year.
I quit renting and bought a house. It cost me an extra $55 per month, but I get a tax credit that more than makes up for it.
I quit drinking. A case of beer is a half tank of gas. A bottle of wine or bourbon is a whole tank of gas.

My style of living was always impacted by my abidiing "love" for having to rely on a manipulable resource. I just love wondering if a sheik suffering the loss of his beloved pet scorpion would send oil prices doubling.
"A stitch in time saves nine" applies very well to fuel costs. Unfortunately, it seems (erroneously) that everybody BUT the U.S. seems to be stitching. Fact is, there are political conservatives like myself who realize that, just because oil and coal have been dandy for a hundred years or so, it's been untrue before and is VERY questionable now.
We're stitchin' to beat the band and several I'm aware of have - with little or no govt assistance - hit it big.
Consider this: if gasoline contains 20% more heating potential that alternative-B, but costs more than 8 times as much, where are we better off using that crud? I'd go with alt-B.

My boyfriend and I work at the
same place. We used to
take separate cars cause we
would both run errands before
work. Now we just take his
car and get up a little earlier
to run errands. [My car is
a gas guzzler and it's 2 years old].
We also used to stop and
grab fast-food for lunch at work.
On my day off, I'll make food for the week
for lunch. throw them in the freezer,
then we have food for the whole
week. It actually has helped us
to eat a little healthier.

Is this serious? Last year gas was about $1.00 per gallon less than today. That means an extra $15 a week, or $60 a month.
Does that require a lifestyle change?

to be honest,it hasnt changed my lifestyle that much.I drive a 2003 chevy silverado(8 cyl vortec engine) and its about a $104.00 to fill up my 24 gallon tank, but my gas mileage is about 24-27 miles to the gallon in the city.It usually lasts me about 2 weeks and I work about 20 miles from my home(40 miles round trip)
Source(s): ps gas is about $4.26 a gallon in Vegas - TiƒƒαnyLv 51 decade ago
I walk anywhere I can within an hour. I also wait til I can hit a series of errands at once and then take care of them in a cluster. Park once and walk between the errands.

I drive less. I wish I could ride the bus, but Gilbert, AZ is too cheap for that! It's too hot to ride my bike. So I waste tons on gas, and now my truck is broken, and I have to waste more money on fixing it.
I am stressed out, and sick of it.
