How do you find 4 leaf clovers?

I know you have to brush over the patch with your hand or foot and look closely for a 4 leaf clover, BUT - I was wondering if I should look for a characteristic in the patch...like if there are blooms or buds. So what kind of clover patch offers the best chance of finding a 4 leaf clover.

try looking in smaller patches. and it's not true that it's in EVERY patch. try gardens where there is smaller amounts in the patches. and for characteristics...four leaves

You need to find the greenest patch with just a couple buds. then take ten steps west and lick the ground you'll get it!
