1 1/2 year old female chihuahua is giving off a foul smell.?

Our chihuahua seems to be generating a very foul smell from her neck area. She has had several baths, but the smell returns. She is also scratching the neck slightly, but I can not see any abnormalities on the skin to cause any problem.

I called the Vet, and might be bringing her in tomorrow, but in the meantime, is there anything we should or could be doing to help her?

Update:

Its definitely not fart related, the smell is coming from her neck/throat area. She is not wearing a collar, so that's not a possibility either...

Update 2:

i looked into her ears, they seem fine. I thought yesterday it was that she had rolled in something disgusting... but I gave her a bath last night when I first smelled it. Then she seemed fine during the night, but today the smell is back...

Update 3:

she's scratching with her back feet, she has not rolled in anything today, we've been watching her very closely. she hasn't even been outside because its been thundering and raining all day.

Its just odd that the smell does not go away despite repeated baths.

Update 4:

I dont think its her anal glands... I've got a lab, I know what that smells like, this is a totally other disgusting smell!!

Hmmm... that's strange. I've heard of dogs smelling that have mange, but you could see it on their skin. I don't know if dogs are like cats, cats have scent glands behind their ears... it could be something like an infection if that's the case. Good luck.

Are you sure the smell is coming from her neck and not her ears. She could have an ear infection. Or she could have rubbed her neck on something outside, my two Labs love to roll about in anything nice and smelly.

I'm sure the vet will solve the problem.

Did she roll in something dead? Is she scratching it with her back feet, or by rolling? Smell whatever she's rolling in/on and I'll be you'll find the culprit.

EDIT: I think she's rolling in something and you need to find what it is. Watch where she rolls, because the usually go back to the scene of the crime and roll again if they get half a chance.

IS SHE FARTING? GAS IS THE NUMBER ONE PROBLEM WITH MOST DOGS. SHE MIGHT ALSO HAVE MANGE, BUT I DON'T THINK SHE IS AN OUTDOOR DOG. ALSO CHECK HER COLLAR, IT MIGHT BE BEGINNING TO GROW INTO HER NECK.

You need to see your vet.
