    Humans in different groups have different cultures, and invent their own religions. Over generations, these are drummed into children's mind as fact, and are seen as the only truth.

    When humans have access to more technology, they spread all over the place, and all of these different cultures and religions mix, with each group sure that theirs is the only correct one.
