Newman's Sponser?

Worst case they can paint that pig yellow and paint Penske on the side that little spot in Forbes about richest race teams missed Mr Penske altogether. I know he owns all or part of 5 or 6 dealerships in the Houston area not to mention the Trucking Rental business. By comparison Bruton Smith owns 2 BIG stores in town and no other outside companies other than the race tracks.

Nascar and Sprint aren't crying over Burton and AT&T, it just called business and it make perfect sense. Supposedly it won't affect the #12 team until after 2009. Newman has said if the Penske team doesn't pick up the performance he is gone. So I don't think Ryan is too worried about it. Roger Penske has said they can run a full schedule without a sponsor anyway. Penske is a gazzillionaire anyway, he can afford it.

there's no crying going on - there was a lawsuit, but no crying - "there's no crying in NASCAR." last time someone cried in nascar was gordon after winning the daytona 500 the first time and dale sr. (and many others) hounded him mercilessly for it.

with sprint/nextel paying the BIG bucks to sponsor the series, they have a little more at stake. even when they took over, they only had so much say - cingular and alltel were grandfathered in. the problems only arose when they wanted to change the logos on the cars because of buyouts. and even then, RCR was given another year and a half to find a new sponsor. penske won't get the same amount of time...

burton's got his brother's old sponsor (caterpillar) lined up for next year, and who knows about the #12. as it currently sounds, newman probably won't be there next year to worry about it.

i dont think they will let him because of the rule no new mobile service sponsors while nextel/sprint is the sponsor... it sucks i wonder what will happen to alltel

They are not going to allow it and it will not be fought like Cingular did. Alltel follows the rules.

I dont no about that but i do no that Burton will have catepillar next year.
