RELIGION : a boon in personal life but IS A CURSE for the mankind ?
For many, religion means every thing in their life and it is their life line. Their beliefs and practices takes them to a level where they experience God and its ultimately God who takes control of their lives. Theists would love to call their religion as the supreme truth, the ultimate reality and the word of God which can not be contested .
BUT RELIGION ALONE HAS DONE MORE HARM TO THE HUMANITY THAN GOOD ? O' yeh, I forgot to mention the devil who is more dear to the theists than God himself because with out devil the theists will have a hard time puttin things straight.
Andre , its not a premise but a question suggesting religion could be boon in personal life . Well I say in place of 'but' 'or' would have been appropiate.

Organized religion has done more harm than good. Belief in a God has not.

Your first premise is false. Religion may cause the ILLUSION of a boon, but, much as with drug addicts and alcoholics, its not really one at all, but rather, its a curse that causes harms. Its far better in life to actually walk without crutches.
So, its bad and bad, respectively.
