Why is Obama for another round of rebate checks?

Obama attacked McCain on Gas Tax holiday as a gimmick, which I actually agree with on. But he is now saying he wants another round of rebate checks. And give Americans a 1000 right off so they can have extra money to pay for gas. What's the difference? MCains gas tax relief, and Obamas 1000 right off, either way is tax money not being collected.

Durring the debates Mike Huckabee said instead of rebates we should invest in building 95, he said that in FLa, so he meant our infrastructure.

a few weeks later Obama took up that as his agenda saying, we shouldn't have given tax rebates, but build our roads.

So I guess Obama is now making gimmicks too? Is this another flip flop or am I Missing a detail?

you do realize that the federal reserve "printed" new money to do that rebate checks bush gave out. the stock market shook and the price of the dollar fell.

thats was just from a 300 dollar check.

Now obama wants to do 1000! lol, we will have to "print" more money to do that and then the dollar will drop again!!!

so you are right, this is NOT good.

you also do realize that oil trades on the "american" dollar.

so the way economics works is if we print MORE money, it actually devalues the dollar itself. in doing so the price of a barrel of oil goes up! this is why the economists were against bushes tax rebate, they said it would hurt the dollar and raise the price of a barrel of oil and it did exactly that!

obama wants to triple that amount. devalue the dollar by about 18 cents and the price of oil will go up at least 5 bucks!

that man hasnt a clue to what he is doing.

    he will break this country.

see this is why we dont just print money when we need it. It devalues the strength of the dollar everytime we fire up the press's to print.

    google it!

He is a LIAR. Do the math. Look at his tax ideas. You and most all Americans are going to be taxed another 15 percent right off the bat. However, that will only continue to increase should he establish free health care for everyone. How do you think Obama is going to get the money for his glorious ideas? Try taxing the people.

Obama uses "Xeroxed" speeches. They are not his own words, as his own words are just filled with stammering and studdering, as demonstrated in every single interview and during his debates with Hillary. When he answers a question with one of his stupid, clueless remarks his Makeover Team quickly releases a statement that Obama didn't mean it that way.

Obama will say anything that he thinks will make him popular. Now it is a tax rebate, which he criticized Bush for giving. He wants it both ways, but it is only good if he does it.

Listen to him carefully. His speeches are full of pretty words. A speech written by somebody else. When he is asked questions off the cuff he brushes the reporter off. Once he responded "Hey, like I answered 8 questions already." We need a strong President who can answer a lot more than 8 questions at a time.

I see I'm in the enemy camp. I think anything that will help the economy will be good for the nation. Whoever idea it is about getting up back on our feet. I don't care. All the candidates flip-flop not just Senator Obama. Do you have any link and source where you're getting this info?***

He should just come out an eliminate the social security tax.

Right now, the tax is 6.2% of income up to $100,000.

For a family making $50,000/year, that's $250/month that Americans are paying in taxes, above the regular 1040 income tax.

That $250/month, invested in mutual funds, would make EVERYONE millionaires at retirement age.

Plus, employers are also forced to match that.

And if you're self-employed, you pay both halves (12.4%)

Of course it is a gimmick. In fact, in my opinion............he is BUYING THE VOTES come this November. This Obama is a very callous, dishonest, evil MARXIST in my opinion. He would/will do anything unimaginable. Not the person I want in the White House.

What do you expect from a nominee that is in the same party as John "Flip Flopper" Kerry?

  • 1 decade ago

Obama is all talk, once again telling the voters what they WANT to hear, to gain votes, with no plan to do anything. He is full of hot air.
