Why do Christians feel threatened by Pagans, Pantheists, Mormons, Deists & Satanists?
It has been observed in this answer forum the way christians verbally attack the faiths described above. It could be due to insecurity or fear psychosis. After all members of all these faiths disassotiated them selves from Christianity and took up other faiths which appeared reasonable to them. About 20% of US population and a similar percentage contribute their support to other modern faiths. So its natural the Christians feel insecure and endangered as their faith is waning fast . Well an average Christian might not experience this but the straight jackets and fundies do feel it.
Well most believers of Christianity are of the opinion that they never feel threatened by any other belief. But thats a hypocratic facade for who ever is in to YA knows the verbal attacks made against atheists, Pagans, Agnostics,Pantheists and to say all those who have disassotiated from Christianity. The staraight reason being dwindling numbers which generates insecurity . Well its survival instinct at play we can say.

They're losing out.
More and more Xtians are becoming atheists/pagans, and the Christian community is going out of their way to respond. It's annoying.

I don't think that's necessarily true. I'm a pagan, and I hope i don't make anyone feel threatened, but i suppose if what you say is true, I would say the fact that a) satanists worship devil, opposite of God/Jesus, that's pretty natural they may find this opposing, or even, *gasp* scary. b) I can't vouch for Mormons, pantheists, or deists as I don't have enough to back my point on them c) paganism is a lot about Occult, rituals, women being superior, and multiple gods, something Christians haven't ever really been too fond of. Hope that helps, although I'm sure someone can give a more better informed point of view on this than me.
Blessed be.

Probably because of what the Bible says. Other religions seem to be considered evil, or at least inferior, in the Bible. You'd think people would be more tolerant of other faiths these days, wouldn't you?
Deuteronomy 18:10-13
"Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to The Lord, and because of these detestable practices The Lord your God will drive out those nations before you. You must be blameless before The Lord your God."
1 Samuel 15:23
"For rebellion is like the sin of divination [witchcraft] and arrogance like the evil of idolatry.
Galatians 5:19-21
"The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissentions, factions, and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit The Kingdom of God."
Revelation 21:8
"But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars - their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulphur."

I actually like several Pagans, Pantheists, Mormons, Deists, and Satanists.
Okay, okay. So I actually only know one person who identifies as a Pantheist.
But I'm not likely to feel threatened by anyone unless they have a gun to my head or make some other gesture that suggests they're about to cause me serious bodily harm.

People- Christians, Atheists, Agnostics, All alike- fear what they do not know or do not, cannot, understand.
For all who read this, if you are an [anyone] who is afraid of an [anyone else] I recommend you take time to learn about that religion.
Fear is only a form of ignorance.

Add agnostics, atheists, homosexuals, and many many others to the list.
I don't know. The only reason I can see for the bashing (ie being threatened) is if you feel insecure in your own faith.
There's a little saying that goes "You don't have to blow out my candle to make yours glow brighter." Apparently, that's lost on some.

I am LDS and I hear because I am a 1) member of a cult 2) Do not believe in their Jesus. 3) have weird ideas 4) have no idea what the bible says or do not interpret it right

As a Christian I am not threatened by them.I do love them enough to tell them the truth about their sin and their lost state.
Those types of people prove Bible prophecy.2 Corinthians 11:4 says people will preach another Jesus.Galatians 1:6-9 talks of people preaching another Gospel.

I might venture to give you an explanation if what you said was true. As it is, I don't think many of us feel threatened at all.

The ones who feel threatened are, I think, frightened by the idea that they may not be "right with god."
BTW: you left out my fellow Pastafarians from your list.
