Zen enlightenment and dreams?
As zen meditation aims to clear and still the mind of passing thoughts and distractions, do people who have attained enlightenment still dream in their sleep?

Greetings. That's actually an interesting question, and if you read about the bhumis (levels of attainment for bodhisattvas), you will notice a little portion about dreams. At a certain level of attainment, before buddhahood, it is said that even a bodhisattva's dreams become pure and virtuous.
It should also be noted that while in this vessel, you are subject to its influences. Dreams are no exception.
I hope this helped.
Take care.

I had a reiki healing, someone reiki trained was working on my head. I had a mind opening - enlightenment experience. I saw three lights in my minds eye getting brighter to form a triangle. After this I sleep better. I don't recall the dreams.

It has been said that the Buddha was always equal to himself. So when he dreamed, even then, he was fully aware.
Remember that all distinctions between experiences (external, internal, sight, imagination, dream, waking) are ultimately arbitrary. I'm not suggesting you go around walking in walls thinking it doesn't matter, but to call something "just" a dream is to make distinctions between aspects of reality as you experience them.
Remember that the world itself is illusion.

Yes and the dreams are vivid and instructional...of course too, enlightenment doesn't mean a person is no longer human...and humans dream...

I know no one who has attained enlightenment. You could ask a Buddha if you know one.

I dream about lettuces mostly.
Lettuces rock big time and you know it.
If lettuce isn't the path to enlightenment I just don't want to hear about it..............chomp!
